Consulting has become synonymous with long projects and countless person-days. Hekima is the opposite.

What this is about
Short workshops for the big questions in your HR IT
Book me for a short workshop that delivers one concrete result: “Does our HR IT strategy hold up?”, “Which roadmap is realistic?”, “Does the architecture fit what we’re planning?”, “Is this project healthy?”, “Where are we losing value?”, “Challenge us!”
One to four hours. One experienced brain. A result you can use the next day.
With Hekima Advisory I personally help organisations rethink their digital HR and make it more effective. No big consulting apparatus, no three-month ramp-up.
My clients are organisations across the EMEA region who want more value from their digital HR, as well as providers of HR IT solutions and services looking to sharpen their product or portfolio.
The company is new; the experience behind it is not: 30 years in HR IT, more than 100 clients across SAP HR/HCM, SuccessFactors, Concur, Qualtrics, WorkForce Software and SAP ESM, conference talks on four continents, four SAP PRESS books, former SAP Mentor and today SAP SuccessFactors Confidant, and external advisor to an AI start-up.
A word on my availability:
Hekima Advisory is my side business, and that is deliberate. My main job is as a SAP HCM Solution Advisor at ORBIS People. On a freelance basis I make my experience available exclusively for short, highly concentrated engagements. That limits my time budget and sharpens the offering at the same time: what you get is experience and analysis, not tons of capacity.
What you bring me in for
HR IT strategy
Strategic goals for HR and IT, roadmap, target picture, prioritisation, and an honest answer on what you should not do.
SAP & SuccessFactors
Digital HR with the SAP portfolio: Employee Central, options for Payroll & Time, Talent & Skills, Integration and more.
AI in an HR context
From Joule and genAI in SuccessFactors to the question of which use cases actually hold up.
And, on the side, an attempt to teach AI my own job.
Analysis & clarity
Cutting through complexity and marketing speak, getting to the point, seeing the big picture, and explaining ideas through analogies that stick.

Rethinking digital HR – in Kenya
A multi-day workshop journey: “Learning from nature in Africa and from entrepreneurs of the Silicon Savannah.” Tailored to the participants, mostly inside Kenyan nature reserves.
The Hekima principle
Millions of years of evolution, and 30 years of HR IT experience, working for you
“Hekima” is Swahili for wisdom, experience, sound judgement and intelligence. The baobab tree in the logo stands for wisdom and longevity, and, as the “upside down tree” turned over by the gods, it also stands for the change in perspective.
This is not decoration. Ecosystems have spent millions of years solving exactly the problems organisations fail at: using resources sparingly, cooperating without a central authority, adapting, using diversity as a stabilising factor. On top of that, a modest 30 years of HR IT experience with over 100 clients.
Experience alone, however, does not bring innovation. It also takes inspiration, and I find that not only in good conversations with clients and colleagues, but in nature as well.
“Hekima ni ufunguo wa mafanikio.”
Hekima (wisdom) is the key to success.
Modern East African saying – pun intended 😉

A quick word about me
30 years in HR IT – from SAP HR to Joule

Co-founder of two boutique consultancies, author of four SAP PRESS books, former SAP Mentor, today SAP SuccessFactors Confidant, and 30 years working with more than 100 clients. If you’re spared all the mistakes I’ve already made, nothing can go wrong any more.
